It looks like divorce is on the horizon, and I have no idea what to expect about the process. For backstory, we've been married for 3 years in Colorado, I make around $60,000 a year, and have almost no assets. No kids, we are currently renting an apartment, a few thousand in savings. My wife hasn't worked for the last 2 years. She is bipolar and untreated.

It seems like the attorneys are by far the most expensive part. Is there any way to avoid this? I think we may be able to come to some sort of agreement without them, but it's hard to say.

Looking to get a general idea about how much the actual divorce will cost, and what alimony might look like.

Obviously, there are a million factors involved, but I'm just looking for a general overview.

Thanks.
