A few things for this state. It's community property so EVERYTHING acquired during the marriage is to be split 50/50. That's all assets and all debts. If she has a credit card with $50k of debt, that's half yours. Same with retirement accounts. Anything created prior to marriage is not community (eg student loans).

You have a medium length marriage (5-25 years). The general rule is 1 yr of support for every 3-4 years of marriage. What will happen is your wife is capable of working, so you will request to have her inputted. This is the amount she 'could' make if she returned to work. Doesn't matter if the job actually exists, it's used for calculations.

Child support is calculated on a formula based on both your incomes. We are a 50/50 custody state. BUT you need to negotiate residency (where the kid actually lives). I'm sending you a DM with a link to Genesis Law Firm, they have a TON of info on divorce. Read everything, you want to be as knowledgeable about this process as possible.

If the house was purchased during the marriage, her name is on the title or mortgage it's a community asset. Doesn't really matter who paid for it. The house is 50% hers and 50% yours. That's both the equity AND the debt. What normally happens is one of you has to buy the other out of their portion, OR use other assets in lieu of payment to achieve a 50/50 split. IF you can't do that, you'll have to sell the house and divide the equity.

Further, the house has two parts: title and mortgage. Both need to be addressed if only one party is keeping the house.

In this state when you file a few things happen:

-You lock in the date of separation. This is the date that community assets and debts stop.

-You get a temporary financial restraining order. No one is to make major purchases or liens against community assets/debts

-starts the 90d waiting/cooling offer period

-you shall be issued a court date 11mo from filing

There are NO family courts in WA, I'm in King County and divorce cases are heard by superior court judges. And that judge is assigned the case that day, and from day to day. No guarantee on consistency. The courts do NOT want to deal with your simple divorce. They have murders, rapes, drugs, etc. to deal with. This state STRONGLY encourages you to reach a settlement w/o a trail. Either on your own, mediation or arbitration. The court will frequently order mediation.

In WA state here too.

You're probably looking at 3 yrs of maintenance/alimony. Have her income imputed to reduce those payments.

You're looking at a 50/50 split of all assets.

You're going to get bent over on child support unless you are awarded custody.
