What I mean by this is.. once I am able to file for divorce.. what steps did you do in what order? I ideally want to move out.. but she is home a lot.. as are a couple of my kids. So how do you go about packing up your shit and moving?
I know with 1000% that she will destroy whatever I leave behind. So.. I want to get as much shit out in a 6 or so hour window I may have. I don't have a truck.. and if I pull up with a mover truck.. I have no doubt neighbors might be like WTF you doing? Not that I should care.. but really dont want any texting/calling her as she would probably speed home.
I would probably need more than 6 hours to pack most shit. I am slowly moving some stuff to storage now.. and some stuff I would leave behind. Like.. a couple dressers that I cant move by myself easily.
I also manage the whole home network.. and most of it is for my work.. so I would need time to disconnect everything, then rework it so she/kids still have internet at home.
She has verbally said half of my shit is hers and has taken pictures of a lot of stuff. So I have no doubt she's going to try to say "that cost $5000" which is utter bullshit.. but I don't have receipts for some stuff.. and I dont want to waste money on lawyer time going back and forth on that shit. Our youngest girl will be done with HS this year.. so by the time I got the money to get the ball rolling.. there should be little to no child support. Being in a no fault state.. I know it's 50/50 assets, alimony and child support. I make about 2x to 2.5x more than her but she works part time.. and for medical reasons claims she cant work more. I know I can impute her salary.. and I will depending on if she has notes/etc that indicate she literally cant work more than part time.. but I doubt that is true. I don't care if she works part time.. but our pay should be based on if she worked full time. If that is the case.. I should have little alimony I would owe.
But my main concern.. is having the money to afford a place of my own, moving out quickly enough before she comes home and tries to fight me and get in the way.. and hopefully after moving out.. having enough money to afford the divorce. I have horrible credit, so no way I can get a loan to pay for lawyers. Not going to even fathom buying a house or a car until after divorce is final (or can you buy a car once you file.. so you can get around?? I have an old truck I'd like to trade in for something with a bit better gas mileage.. maybe even a lower end EV).
Thanks.
