The funny thing is that men are still clearly becoming less religious across generations, just not at as fast a rate as women.

[–]Remarkable-Rate-9688[S] 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Really. Can I see the statistics? The comments about young men made in many of those subs on that "situation" made me cry but are young men becoming less religious just, not as fast as women? I would like to see links and stats that say this

[–]Regular_Start8373 12 points13 points14 points 1 year ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Well the graph you shared shows a decline in gen z religiosity amongst men as well. Just not as big as women

[–]Remarkable-Rate-9688[S] 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

Here, it says gen z women and other generations are still more religious. https://out.reddit.com/t3_1jzieg2?app_name=ios&token=AQAAApT-Z9A-8AgvCUXGcDFTbySXzGJcYyK_WcNpncBR0Iv69Bil&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.deseret.com%2Ffaith%2F2025%2F03%2F29%2Fmen-religion-gender-women-gap%2F But yeah, it seems to be declining for both men and women. The problem isn't men becoming more religious. Infact it's declining and they are still less religious than women. The problem the subs atheism spreads lies about young white men to hurt their reputation and manipulate people into thinking that they're doing something really wrong when they're not.

[–]Regular_Start8373 7 points8 points9 points 1 year ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Agree though it's not just white boys, african and Asian feminists trash their men too

[–]Remarkable-Rate-9688[S] 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Well, it's definitely a lie that young men (white) are becoming more religious. They are becoming less religious just not as fast as women but they're still less religious overall. Also, why wasn't it a problem when women were more religious? It seems the sub atheist spreads lies about young men to hurt their reputation

[–]Regular_Start8373 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (2 children) | Copy Link

That sub has been taken over by wokes long time ago like many other subs around 2017-2018

[–]Remarkable-Rate-9688[S] 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I found this article: https://www.deseret.com/faith/2025/03/29/men-religion-gender-women-gap/ Thoughts on it?

[–]Regular_Start8373 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Seems like christian magazine. I'd take it with a grain of salt

[–]AnFGhoster 23 points24 points25 points 1 year ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I assure you, I don't want a tradwife because I'm religious. As the meme goes God told me to get a tomboy. :^)

Also LMFAO they will try to tie Tate to ANYTHING they don't approve of. They can't even change up their strawmen.

[–]Remarkable-Rate-9688[S] 8 points9 points10 points 1 year ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. Also, women were more religious than men for a long time so why didn't people say anything then? Yet when men are religious it's a probem?

[–]AnFGhoster 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Even when more women were religious people acted like it was solely man's domain.

[–]Remarkable-Rate-9688[S] 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Such hypocrites

[–]lazymud68 18 points19 points20 points 1 year ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I swear they even want our religious beliefs to revolve around women. Also men don't demand a trad wife, we just want a woman who carries her weight in the rs

“Men need to join groups so that they can handle their lack of success with women”

Gen Z men go to church

“No, not like that!”

[–]Remarkable-Rate-9688[S] 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Women were always and still are more likely to go to church so what's the problem with men going aswell? They never really said anything until the number of men in church started catching up with women. Dont you think it's hypocritical?

[–]B1G_Fan 6 points7 points8 points 1 year ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I could be wrong, but I seem to recall Gen Z women being as religious as Gen Z men. And that’s what the illustration shows.

As for your question, is it hypocritical on the part of women to disagree with how men try to cope with women’s disinterest in men?

Absolutely, it’s hypocritical!

I was satirizing the modern perspective of women today. Sorry if that wasn’t clear.

[–]Remarkable-Rate-9688[S] 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Also, the number of Gen z men going to church is declining too. Just not as fast as women but definitely declining Here are the double standards: Women go to church: ..... Men go to church: Misogynisticincels! Men can never win. Also as said before, no. of religious men is also declining.

[–]New-Distribution6033 6 points7 points8 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes.

More religious means more susceptible le to propaganda, conspiracy theories, and authoritarianism. It's no accident that our current head of state panders to the religious.

[–]BaroloBaron 10 points11 points12 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A number of religions have a difficult time accepting the principles of liberal democracy, so I can see why some people who care about liberal democracy would be wary of certain demographics turning to religion.

[–]Jack-The-Happy-Skull 10 points11 points12 points 1 year ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I find this hilarious, my parents generation (Gen Y/Millennial) spent most of my upbringing vilifying religion.

Then freak out when I, and many of my friends became religious, and fundamentalist religious. (Am Roman Catholic).

My parents actually tried to stop me from attending church, saying “But it will make you racist, sexist, and Xenophobic…” and I flat out told them, “Do you want me in your life?” They shut up about it quickly.

[–]MostlyPeacfulPndemic 6 points7 points8 points 1 year ago (1 child) | Copy Link

As Catholic a millennial parent of a tween boy, this bring tears to my eyes

My boomer mom was also very unhappy when I decided to become more than just a cultural Catholic

Am sorry to hear, but an glad more parents are being Catholics.

Take care.

What do you think of the sub "atheist"? Any bad experiences with it?

[–]Caboose_choo_choo 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm Prefacing my comment with i don't care if you're religious or not it doesn't matter to me.

Anyways, it's seems to me the reason why more women are leaving churches is probably most simply they just don't like how they're being treated in the church while the guys do like how they're being treated which tbf makes sense to me based off of how I hear the church treats women but I also say this as someone who isn't naturally religious and just hates church not cause of what they teach or whatever but because of how the service always goes at whatever church I've been to.

Edit: I hate church cause every church I've been to broadly follows these steps

9am church starts Around 15 minutes of singing

Around 30 minutes of pastor having us read a verse from the Bible, the pastor then usually tells a story from their life that connects to whatever lesson the verse is about, we'll usually then go over the verse again

Around 15 minutes for praying, after which the pastor may bring around the collection plate

20-30 minutes of pastor talking again, maybe they have us read another verse

15ish minutes to sing again

Then, close with prayer.

And u don't like that rhythm, and I tell my mom and sister that they should only invite me to church if they don't do that pattern.

[–]Remarkable-Rate-9688[S] 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women were going to church earlier for a long time and they didn't have a problem then yet now that "more" men are going, it's a problem? Also, technically the number of men in church is also decreasing, just not as much as women. Plus, women across all generations still go more than men.

[–]Classic_Greedy 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Actually, everything is a problem.

[–]JohnKLUE34567 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Religious Institutions are, for the most part, the only institutions that reward men for being emotionally vulnerable.

[–]justanother-eboy -5 points-4 points-3 points 1 year ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Woke culture and feminism replaces god with their ideology. Hopefully they can come to see that Jesus is lord and not what the world has pushed onto them

[–]BaroloBaron 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'd avoid generalizing, but certain radical views that today are popular among feminists are a form of religion. In fact are very clearly a derivative of puritanism. Just replace "original sin" with "being born with a penis", and "God's grace" with "women's favour", and the rest comes by itself.

[–]Juantap1 -3 points-2 points-1 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It’s the people behind those ideas that are their God.

[–]Regular_Start8373 -2 points-1 points0 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Then they're just replacing one superstition with another

[–]Regular_Start8373 -2 points-1 points0 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Maybe the recent overturning of roe v wade has something to do with it
