I hate the way people will watch others interactions and make assumptions about them, not knowing the couple's dyamics at all. For all we know the guy in the story princess treatments his partner; respects her desire to spend time with the infant; had already done a lot of labor, or maybe even saw playing with the child as a reward rather than labor. They could be a happy couple enjoying their day out and this miserable human watches them, waiting to turn it into a warning and shame him on the internet for purity points.

Her argument about it being convenient that money is measurable but labor hard to measure is also not the dig she thinks it is: the lack of measurability is exactly what lets women call for more male labor constantly. There I am taking trash down six flights of stairs so she doesn't have to lift a finger, driving everywhere, planning all the dates, cooking half the meals, cleaning more, doing more mainetance, and she'll still call it "mental load" or "weaponized incompetence" to tell me I'm not doing it her way precisely because there was no piece of paper or contract explaining that yes, that is labor.

50/50 for money usually only applies to money while dating. When married with children it applies to time worked. Men do 2/3 of market labour and women do 2/3 of domestic labour/ childcare. That's a partnership.
