I recently ranted about this on LWMA and feel it definitely merits repeating here and especially with it being an example of accepted and enforced misandry. I hate so much how false accusations are constantly downplayed and trivialized to the point of being thought of as a non-issue and are sometimes outright laughed at. Misandrists have the nerve to claim false accusations either never happen or are very rare, which is beyond ignorant and harmful. Even if there's some truth to that, it doesn't make it any less devastating for innocent men and boys who've been falsely accused and were punished without due process. It certainly doesn't erase that it can very well happen and especially in today's climate. It hits me hard on a personal level as I remember years ago in elementary school when a female student accused me of spitting on her (which I swear I didn't do) and I almost got beat up in the schoolyard over it by other students who were quick to gang up on me and not get the facts straight. I got lucky that day and avoided being seriously hurt, but other boys and men who've been falsely accused haven't been so fortunate. You can imagine how personally triggering and upsetting it is to hear false accusations downplayed or to hear phrases like "believe women" when I was nearly a victim of a female who lied about me doing something wrong to her.

I'm reminded of not long after MeToo became a frenzy how people were mocking the #ProtectOurMenAndBoys hashtag and outright bashing people suggesting men and boys should be protected. Innocent ones surely should be and deserve to be seperated from ones who are genuinely guilty. It's incredibly harmful to suggest otherwise. It's bad enough men were (and still are) being slandered so much but boys as well? That's just downright evil to slander boys. It's so worrying for young boys growing up in today's climate seeing the rampant misandry and how any violence or ill will against them has been trivialized so much.

Men and boys who are innocent should absolutely be protected and defended, and unfortunately misandrists want to do everything they can to see to it that doesn't happen and to eliminate due process. I'm hopeful the Johnny Depp case has shined some much-needed light on this, about the importance of due process and weeding out the innocent and genuinely guilty.
