I've ranted about this before but it's incredibly disturbing and downright infuriating seeing people deny misandry being real or downplaying it by claiming it's not as bad or harmful as misogyny. Misandry is undeniably real, every bit as much as misogyny and just as harmful and dangerous. What makes it particularly bad is how it continues to go ignored and unchallenged, compared to misogyny which always has attention and action taken in regards to it.
You have those claiming it isn't a systemic, institutional or cultural issue. Yet you have things like only men required to register for the draft, how male victims of violence, abuse, rape, etc. (especially by female offenders) continue to go ignored and unhelped, almost no abuse shelters for male victims, no campaigns to end violence and sexism against men, the likes of the fraudulent MeToo and Time's Up organizations always excluding male victims and not passing protections that also extend to males, boys failing in education due to bias towards female students, etc. among so many other examples. You want to talk about legal misandry, how about how in the U.K. it was seriously considered curfewing all male civilians past a certain time in the name of protecting women, while as usual completely ignoring the many underreported instances of female on male crimes. Let's not forget doozies like the Gillette ad and "educate your son" meme, which completely ignore the fact plenty of women and girls also conduct themselves in an equally inappropriate way as men and boys and also equally mistreat men and boys, and yet they're not held accountable. The asinine notion of "believe all women" which automatically assumes the man is guilty without due process and downplaying false accusations, which absolutely do happen and far more frequently than many realize. And whenever you bring up male victims of female violence and abuse, you inevitabley get a misandrist retorting with the usual "Stop hijacking the conversation when women share their experiences" or "Men's violence against women is a global crisis and epidemic." Ugh.
It's incredibly infuriating to see people denying misandry is real or claiming it isn't as severe as misogyny and thus not an issue worth worrying about, when it's very real and very severe. Continuing to ignore and minimize misandry is what leads to things like the disproportionately high male suicide rates and male students comprising the overwhelmingly vast majority of school dropouts when they don't get the educational aid female students are often given just on the basis of gender. You can't bring this up without an misandrist inevitably accusing you of being an incel or something to that effect when you're just bringing up facts and common sense, both of which are obviously lost on misandrists with their hateful agendas.
One has the right to their own beliefs and opinions, but not their own facts. It's an undeniable and indisputable fact that misandry is very real, very dangerous and because it's gone ignored and unaddressed for so long, it's been allowed to fester and get even worse. What's truly sad and worrying is the effect this has on young boys routinely exposed to it on a regular basis and essentially being told they don't matter and are what's wrong with society just because of their gender. It's beyond sickening.
