This article is mostly just sour-grapes ... that said, I don't expect much "journalistic" probing or self- reflection in an article like this, but ...

Imagine saying, totally unironically:

“I’m looking for a man who … has goals and ambition, is intelligent, trustworthy, a provider, supportive, considerate, kind, assertive, masculine, honest, faithful, intentional, has a healthy self-esteem and a sense of humour, loves to go out, and likes fitness. These basic qualities are hard to find these days,” she said."

That's a list of SIXTEEN qualities, which she calls "basic."

Can you imagine the mockery a single man would receive if he said: "all I want is a woman who is submissive, intelligent, trustworthy, a good homemaker, supportive, considerate, kind, passive, feminine, honest, faithful, leadable, low-anxiety, finds me funny, doesn't like to go out too much, and has a good body [since that the honest version of "likes fitness"] --?

He wouldn't be allowed to ask for some of those things AT ALL, let alone say they were the bare minimum. He'd be lucky if society stopped at calling him delusional, rather than a monster ....

The article is ridiculous. I genuinely thought it was a parody a minute.

Each interviewed woman lists a truckload of demands and then talks about how the bar is in hell and so easy for men. Those two statements contradict each other.

They also talk about a lack of 'quality men'. Describing them as disposable things that just exist to enhance their own lives. Not a team, not a partnership.

If you flipped the genders, this would be lambasted as misogynistic trash. It would be mocked, attacked, and ridiculed online. But somehow, it's empowering.

Men trash, women most affected. Cry me a river.
