I absolutely loath the bear thing. It's a clever piece of propoganda because people think bears are very dangerous. So saying that you'd rather meet a bear, than a man, suggests how absolutely appalingly ferocious a man must be if they're more dangerous than a terrifying bear.

The truth is that bears are actually very safe and you only have a 1 in 2.1Million chance of being killed by a bear. That's the equivalent of tossing a coin 21 times, in a row, and getting heads every time. The other news flash is, because bears are so unlikely to attack, it's actually safer for a man, or a woman, to come across a bear than another HUMAN BEING.

Clever marketing, propoganda trick though. Shows how rotten men must be, but I guess "I'd rather come across a gold fish than a man" is not quite so sensational.

Last time I looked a woman going for a night out, is more at risk on the journey to / from the venue on the road, especially if she's on a motorbike, than at the venue itself. However women don't seem to be so hysterically pearl clutching about cars and refusing to drive. It's just men they seem to want to hate on and compare to bears rather than the actual true risks they face.

As soon as anyone starts talking about women and bears in woods I realise they are clueless and are simply reacting to things emotionally rather than based on any sort of data or actual risk. It's all imaginary for them.

So if a man got abused by his mother growing up, his first girlfriend would rape him, and a local homeless woman would catcall him, is he in the right to blame all women? To belittle and talk over women? To dismiss issues women face? No, because he’s taking it out on innocent people.

But it seems they’re going with logic of which group itself? So the previous guy, the women that traumatized him, are they victims if statistically they are more likely to experience abuse? No.

This is like if me, a trans person, killed a cis person, then said that I should be welcomed in safe spaces because some cis people have killed some trans people, and that the victim’s family is being insensitive because it’s more often that a trans person will be killed by a cis person, and that they need to be more kind to me because I’ve faced transphobia(not from the victim, but since all groups are a monolith.).

Kind of a stupid rant, and it’s just an example, but these people are actually insane.

Only one response comes to mind when reading the responses….As an individual who doesn’t gaf about the bear situation these women will turn their back on you too. So stop thinking that you know them fellas.
