Personally I do not believe in it but I have seen it a lot and it is happened to me personally to wear my ex broke up with me and went after guys who had more money or more clothes or whatever

I don't believe every girl does this though because I've met tons of cool and sweet girls whose boyfriends or husbands aren't super rich or whatever or at least they're on the same level

I guess what I worry about is as I get older standards increase for men and women and sometimes we miss out on things when we were younger like I did

Back when I was 18 and still coming out of high school I don't think a lot of girls expected you to know or have a lot which is fair but you would still be better if you had more like a car or an apartment at least. But now it's 23 and having failed in all of that you can see how the standards arrives and how hard it is to meet them as you get older

My life is not going so well right now and I'm projecting at least three more years before I'm finally stable and that means it would have taken me 8 Years After High School to finally be secure and I do hate that because all my life I've seen other people hop in and out of relationships without too much trouble but I feel like I need to have all of this stuff first before I am ready just because it's so foreign to me

Like if it's not your hair then it's your clothes and if it's not bad then if the house or the car you drive and it was not that then you need a bigger house or a better car or whatever

As much as I feel like I should be ready now I can't confidently say I am passable in dating because I know I have so many things that will penalize me versus things that will make me attractive and I just don't know anymore
