I think the reason many people flock to TRP is because there's a certain simplicity and comfort to it: "All women are the exactly alike and they're all bad people so don't worry, however they treat you, it's not your fault and there's nothing you can do about it". It's also based on the same kind of us vs. them mentality that cause some people to hate LGBT+ groups, immigrants, people of other political orientation, you name it.
This is especially insidious because even when you know about this phenomenon, it can still pull you in. I'm experiencing this first hand, all my relationships have ended horrible, with cheating, dead bedrooms, her leaving for a "higher status" guy.
And even though I know that doesn't mean that all women or even a sizeable part would treat me like that and I've just had extraordinarily bad luck, I STILL catch myself thinking along TRP lines because personal experiences have such a big impact on how I'm feeling as opposed to what other people are going through or abstract studies and statistics, even though those should objectively carry more weight.
Has anyone else experienced this?
