Men & Women differences in dating

Most women are not thinking this after a week of dating. This may be more common in the 30 age range, people looking to start a family, or, it may be more common among female engineers, who would have a different personality than your average bear. But I think this is just anecdotal. Most people aren't too serious with dating nowadays. but once they think it's time to get married, they start calculating this stuff quickly, to see if it's worth their time dating people. Again, I think this is just anecdotal and you haven't encountered enough different women, or only noticed the kind that do this, while not noticing the men who do.

Most women r not expecting a sole breadwinner, but just a good partner.

Word. Life isn't the caveman days anymore. Life is significantly harder. We barely relax anymore (well the city folk at least). Covid fucked us even more. Just having someone to lean on, jam out with, have deep conversations with, snuggle with...those moments can help carry us through the days sometimes.

This feels like you are interacting with a very specific subset of women who feel like that. Ive known a few women like this, usually in their late 20s through 30s and focused on building a family unit. But its definitely not the norm with younger folks and even with women in that age bracket its not a rule. Plenty of women looking to just have a good time.

Have you talked to a lot of women about this?

I noticed that men gets quite upset or triggered even when talking about income in relationships. And after talking to some guys i know (my engineering colleagues), i drew abit of conclusion. Let me know your thoughts....

My wife and I married while dirt poor. She didn't ask me to pay for her half of the date and she was always scheming to make her own business. Well she did pull it off and we're very much not poor anymore. I worked until I got to the top of the company's IT food chain and then we built a new business together.

There are tons of married people that we drive by through the city who never got that far with their ambitions and are still dirt poor together, with kids no less. The gold digger style of woman is not a dead trope (see: Female Dating Strategy) but it's on a ventilator and the priest is reading.

I think women join the workforce because we need to to survive. Even if you want a more traditional marriage where the wife stays home, she needs to support herself up until getting married. Plus spouses can die leaving the other to again support themself. It’s not so much a choice these days but a necessity. And that’s not even taking into account women who want to work because they find it meaningful.

I think this is mostly true, but there are a lot of short-sighted women out there, and women who don't want kids. There are also exceptions like my sister who is a doctor and was looking for a house-husband.

I’ll be honest I don’t think you’re far off in your assessment about why woman who are seriously dating care about income. Definitely not all woman are dating that seriously to find a father for their future children though. For me having a partner with a decent salary might be nice for an easier life but that does not actually determine if I want to be with them, neither am I looking to feather the nest at this point in my life. I think for people dating for marriage or for a serious relationship figuring out who is actually a candidate and who doesn’t match quickly is pretty normal so nobodies time is wasted. Depending on the person they may very well want those important conversations within the first week or first month or so. If one person wants to talk about the future and the other doesn’t than they’re simply not looking for the same thing. I’ve definitely seen both men and woman that essentially have interview questions lined up because they want to know quickly who’s marriage material and who just won’t work out. Side note: I think a funny side effect of this sub being for ex red pill guys though is that some of you aren’t out of the habit of making generalizations about women. Like for any group, some generalizations may be true, but I feel like I see you guys try to generalize everything. I think it’s mostly a way to try to understand woman, so I don’t believe it’s malicious at all, just something to think about and be aware of. People are complex and there’s a shit ton of both men and woman who have been raised so many different ways and have a variety of different preferences and ways to live life. Presuming you can know a large groups motivations (that your not a part of) based off of your life’s experiences is an ego trip

I think talking about income very soon would be triggering for me. I will be open about my job and discuss maybe spending habits, but once numbers are talked about it starts to feel like my worth is yet again about what I earn. I dont care if a women makes 45k or 100k, I care if I like them, but when a women wants to know how much I make off the bat it feels like they want a sugar daddy. I've never had a women ask me about income tbh, but if they constantly dont pay and suggest expensive dates I find that to be a compatibility issue.

And im 29 and want kids. I definitely think about the future quickly.
