I’ve been going to singles events since before the Instagram boom, both before 2020 and after. And honestly, I’ve seen how these events degraded. What used to be about meeting people now feels like an excuse for women to farm followers. It’s no longer a singles event, it’s an Instagram event.

So here’s my question: would it be smart for men to delete Instagram altogether? The idea is to cut off this dynamic women rely on-so that it stops being “normal” to ask “let’s follow each other on Instagram” during first contact.

Would removing Instagram force these events back to genuine interaction instead of social media clout-chasing? Or is that just wishful thinking?
