Gross- sounds like my ex and wish I detected the red flags on our first few “dates” (to him, we were just hanging out fwb but me as a Pickme kept insisting they were dates). Literally shoving you around like their little plaything or sex toy, expecting this benefit for FREE, throwing constant insults at you, and they don’t even see you as a human being that deserves basic kindness and empathy. Crabby and rude little leeches.

What a turn off. I've offered to pay - but only one man has ever let me and I insisted, with him because I knew I would never see him again. I think It's an age thing - Men I meet now, absolutely refuse to let me pay. Even when I'm with girlfriends we take turns but my richer friends definitely try to pay for me more often than I let them. I'm the funny, POVO one they like to go dancing with. Also, when men take me out, they always ask me advice, so I kind of treat it like a consultation if they do that and yeah, then they should pay.

If a man is okay with you opening your wallet around him in the courtship phase, he is not that into you or he is cheap and/or broke.

💡Courtship phase is different than dating phase and is context dependent.

I won’t even go out with men that make jokes or inquire about my finances. I think it’s incredibly tacky and usually these men are gold diggers with bad manners that think they are “edgy”. And I live by the adage “truth in humor”. If a man “jokes” about you buying him things or that if you buy drinks, he will get dinner…🤢🤢🤢He is usually hoping you will take this as a hint.

A man once told me about a date he was planning for us- a picnic that actually sounded cool and thoughtful until he told me that I would need to bring dessert. He ended up being a 🤡. A man trying to have sex with you that is concerned with what you bring to “make it fair” is always a no.

There are plenty of men that will not ask you out and the require that you “bring a contribution”.
