I adore this page for not only being able to discuss the horror of gabby’s case, but also point out the gaps in the discussion for WOC without derailing the other topic. I’ve heard about these murders before and have been so disgusted by the lack of attention they get.

YES. Thank you! There are so many MMIW and slim to none get the news coverage that Gabby and other women who look like her get. It’s a problem.

I don't want to diminish from the horror and tragedy of what happened to Gabby Petito. I would, however, like to point out the inconsistency of the media's reaction to her murder (although I understand she had a larger social media presence and that the body cam video of the police completely failing her fueled a lot of attention) and the lack of support in terms of search parties, media coverage, etc. for finding MMIW.

I'm sorry I messed up the posting and lost the title of the article, but I think it's important that we are mindful of ALL our sisters, not just the more privileged, visible ones. I have seen the posters of two MMIW from my community alone who were just as young and beautiful and precious. They were never found, and I can't help but wonder if they had the same amount of media coverage or people searching for them, maybe their bodies would have been recovered as well.

I sincerely mean no disrespect and still hope the cops who let Gabby down serve life sentences IF NOT worse.
