Yeah and honestly in my opinion FDS isn’t about empowerment, it’s about maximizing female benefit from dating. Women who aren’t feminists can still benefit from it.

And those of us who are should recognize that while female liberation is about giving women as a class objective material power in society, female benefit is specific to each woman and looks very different for a lesbian and straight woman, one who wants kids and one who doesn’t, a younger woman and a post-menopausal woman, and so on. The thing that gives the most benefit to most women of childbearing age who wants to be mothers, is to be able to have children when she’s ready while in a loving HV marriage with a spouse who’s willing and able to provide for her, and to have the support of both her and her spouse’s extended families. That’s not the ideal or even possible for everyone but we need to stop shaming women for wanting that or being able to achieve it.
