The sunk cost fallacy. You've invested in this man financially. It can be hard to walk away when we invest in someone. But real talk, you are one of the lucky ones. It may not seem like it but $3000 is a cheap lesson. Some people take decades, and kids and illness to learn the lesson you got for $3,000. Take your win and GO.
This man managed to get you to help support him financially. Whether that was through sad pity party narc tactics or through sweet talking is irrelevant. He is dangerous because he knows what buttons to push to get you to behave a certain way. Trust me, I know. You need to block him on EVERYTHING. Leave the money and run. Do not leave any means of communication open to him. They are experts at waiting and resurfacing just when you've managed to get over most of their bullshit. The tricky thing about these men is that they are often nice and not overly toxic so it is SUPER easy to fall back into their familiarity. But they are huge black holes. Before you realize it, 10 years have passed and you have no idea where the time went. Don't let this be you. RUN sis. RUN. And please DM me if you need to rant or need someone to talk you out of reuniting with this NVM.
