Gone Girl really changed the game for female-led suspense novels and domestic thrillers. I listen to a lot of audiobooks at work and this includes a lot of books in this genre. I've realized that a lot of them are actually cautionary tales that promote FDS ideals and would love more recommendations for similar books.

  • I'm currently reading this book called The Starter Wife about a 20 something pickme who marries a 40 something professor whose first wife disappeared mysteriously
  • The Wives is another book about a pick me in a relationship with a poly man and how that can fuck up your life
  • The Last Mrs Parrish is about what happens when a LVW thinks that wealthy = high value
  • The Silent Wife is about a middle aged forever girlfriend getting fucked over and levelling up and getting revenge on her cheating common law husband (my personal favourite)
  • The Wife Between Us is about the consequences of ignoring small red flags when you're dating and why you should never trust men with crazy exes
  • The Arrangement by Robin Harding is about a young woman going into sugaring/sex work and how dangerous it can be

What female-led thrillers have you guys been reading lately?
