God, I remember being this girl in high school (minus the Shakespeare part LOOOOL). The funniest thing was, it wasn't even true. I was a tomboy so I had guy friends, but my best friends growing up had always been women--still are. I guess I just said this because I thought it would make me look cool? Ugh. None of the women who say this probably even mean it, or they have ONE male friend who probably sexually harasses them but it's "just a joke!" No thanks, I'll stick with my sisters.

All my female friendships are so much deeper. Like I keep a small group of female friends and it is definitely quality>quantity and there’s so much support. I have guy friends too that are platonic and yeah, we have good times but literally make friendships are so shallow. I thought it was just me at first, but this is how males interact with each other too. They’re friends because they talk about one subject together or do one thing together. I have my “movie buff” friends where we hang out and only talk/watch movies, my “book club” friends where we only discuss books and my “finance” friends where we only talk about economic policy. Their range is so limited. They’ll help me if I need something or plan on moving but there’s not the same emotional depth.
