He does not make you a priority at all. Dating him will condition you from an early age to accept terrible behavior from men. Dump him now and don't take him back ever, even if he does say he changed. Let his female best friend deal with his unwashed ass.

When it comes to improving SMV, you shouldn't be trying too hard until you are at least 18. At only 16, it's mostly about keeping a healthy weight, a nice haircut, and avoiding weird experimental make-up techniques. Do not try to become prettier to make your lame boyfriend treat you better. Do it to become more confident in yourself, but do not care too much about what guys think at this stage. The important thing is to remember that you are the prize and need to be treated as such.

Why are you dying to be tied to one guy at 16? At this age - so many boys are desperate for female attention that if one guy doesn’t want to give it to you, plenty of others will.

You raising your SMV is not going to make your boyfriend less of a tool.

Having a lot of options is part of raising your SMV. But honestly, at your age, the last thing you should care about is what boys think. Their brains aren’t fully developed and they’re stupid AF.

Spend the next 4 years concentrating on your education, women friends, possibly finding a mentor in life, and your self-care / adulting routines. This includes learning how to cook simple, nutritious foods, daily hygiene and grooming, weekly laundry, a good sleep routine, keeping your living space neat and clean, and maintaining a productive hobby.

Also volunteer work, a part-time job, and keeping an eye on your finances.

Forget boys, they add nothing to your life right now that you can't get yourself or from women.

Do go on casual dates to learn social skills and spot red flags (start with the list of everything that's wrong with your "boyfriend" and avoid that in future), but don't upgrade anyone to "serious boyfriend" until your 20's.

Avoid men who make you feel jealousy, disgust, anxiety or contempt. That's not love.

I just want to point out that your concern is improving your looks for a boy who doesn’t bother showering before your dates. He’s putting forth the least possible effort while you’re worrying about how to do more. That’s not fair to you, and it’s probably only going to get worse.

This boy is not worth your time. He’s not reliable, he plays games and leaves you on read, and the best thing you can do for your self-image and confidence would be to dump him (I wouldn’t feel bad about ghosting him if I were you). Then find some social things you can do now that you won’t have to worry about him trying to make you feel guilty.

You deserve to be happy, not stressed out trying to figure out some Shapiro-loving anti-woman scruffy nerf herder.

If you want to, then calmly break up with him. Explain what made you unhappy, that you don’t think he’s a bad person (assuming you don’t) but that the relationship has become more negative than positive and you think you’d be happier apart.

He’s young and probably not bad, just stupid. Maybe if you explain things well he will grow out of this. Hurting others is never good. Maybe one day you’ll be on the other end and you’ll hope they’ll treat you kindly. You also don’t want to be dealing with the drama and fallout of a dramatic breakup.

After that, invest in yourself! You have so much time to do so much cool stuff! If there’s one bit of advice I wish I could give to my 16 year old self it would be try EVERYTHING. Horseback riding, hiking, trips, volunteering, painting, sports, writing, anything you have the chance to. You’ll figure out what you want, and (more importantly) what you don’t want. You’ll figure out what’s important to you.

Read books, watch good tv and movies, listen to music. Relax, hang out with friends, fill your happiness reserves.

Honestly I’m excited for how full and exciting your life will be when you’re not spending energy on this guy. If you really think about it, and add up the hours this guy is making you happy and the hours he’s making you miserable, you’ll see if he’s a net positive or negative in your life.

I don’t think he likes you that much to be honest. He’s probably just immature at this age, and just stringing you along which is why he prioritizes his friend over you. His views about feminism and his liking of Ben Shapiro is also very concerning. I suggest you enjoy the rest of your high school years not having to worry about improving yourself over a man who clearly does not give a shit.

You’re 16. You should not be in any type of long term relationship. You shouldn’t be in a relationship that’s not 100%. End it
