I have a friend going through a break-up right now. Well, it's been about 3 months. I check in on her to see how she's doing and try to give her the best advice from what I learned when I went through my own break-up 1.5 years ago. I've tried to ease in FDS concepts so that she switches her focus from him and what he did to healing and leveling up herself.

Recently, I asked if she had blocked her ex yet, hoping she said yes. It's been 3 months since she found out that her LDR of 11 months was actually a sham because he had been cheating on her with multiple women. She told me she doesn't want to block him because she "wants to know that he changed" and "wants to believe that he feels bad for what he did." She said she believes people can "change and be transformed" and is giving him that grace because it's part of her faith as a Christian. This irks me so much so I just decided that she can make her own decisions and whatever I say wasn't going to get through. She'll have to learn the hard way.

FDS has really helped me realize that so many people around me engage in pick-me behavior. It's so frustruating!!!!! Do you have any stories about giving a friend advice, them ignoring it and then having to learn on their own?
