We have all had it and it does not benefit you in any way except if he is really into you are same level but that almost never happens anyways.

So here my main strategy to overcome oneitis is actually seeing through their bullshit/character.

For every man you meet try to find out his negative traits very early on and focus on them:

  • is he unreliable
  • has he lied
  • is he manipulative
  • try to ask him about his exes, about his past relationships etc
  • look realistically at his career and achievements

The more negative or average traits you have the easier it is to overcome a crush. The more he opens up the less you have a likelihood of a crush. If you don't know your crush very well I advise to get him to know better until you have enough datapoints to work with. If the crush remains a mystery it will be much more difficult to overcome your oneitis.
