What you just described sounds like a Cinderella situation, here. This is not okay and not normal. Your siblings should have equal amount of chores and your parents should be cleaning up after themselves. your mom sounds like she has raised you to be a maid for the family. I'm so sorry that you had this experience. But this is not how it should be.

I always tell women to care about themselves first. You’ll exhaust yourself being selfless and letting people suck your energy. This goes out to nice girls too. Practice by saying no, ask yourself “do I truly want to do this?” and “would this person do the same for me? Have they done the same?” You’ll be so much happier living life for you and not others. You come first.

I saw a beautiful comment on another post a few days ago about how sometimes we want to do so much for the men we love, like you with your ex boyfriend, and what the person said was to practice changing the focus of that habit to yourself. Think of all the things you would do for your ex, and do those, or equivalent things for yourself. Express love to yourself with acts of kindness to yourself, or gifts for yourself.

I know this doesn’t quite help with your family situation, but if you practice this habit you will be in a better place emotionally before your next relationship.

I know it's easier said than done, but I think the only thing you can do that will really help remedy this situation is moving out of home.

I feel like at this point, nothing you say or do will change their behaviour. You can't change them. You can only change yourself.

I am so jealous of their relationship you have with your mom. I am adopted and my adopted mom passed away years ago.

I have met my bio mom when I was 25yo but it’s hard cause I have a lot of resentment towards her. I only have her in my life cause my kids deserve to have e a gma.

Anytime I read a person having a great foundation with their mother, it literally makes me cry. My mom was fantastic but it’s hard waking the earth once a parent has passed

I feel you sis. With parents like that it is very difficult to set bounderies and they think because they gave birth to you, they OWN you and then congratulate each other on rasing a slave. To be honest the only way is to either pretend to be sick and tired and stressed all the time or move out somehow. My cousin who is a girl with 5 brothers did this and sais it´s the only way, because talking to her parents was like talking to a stone or a wall and sometimes they would even attack her.
