I listen to several true crime podcasts, watch Dateline, Forensic Files, etc. There's a saying that it's always the spouse- and it's sadly all too true. (Men get murdered by their wives too but I'm sure the stats for that look quite different than the ones for how many husbands murder their wives.) Half the time it's all over an affair. Another saying is "homocide is cheaper than divorce".
