The world of the super rich is pretty trailer park in its practices. Rich guys play around as long as possible then marry extremely young Jackie Kennedy types who were groomed since birth to be blind to entitled depravity. When the starter wives serve their breeding function and grow up and maybe even throw out the sedatives and wise up, they're often replaced.

There's a new breed that seem better prepared for the eventual discard. They're educated and move on to careers. But is it really optimal for children to be born into such chilly, pragmatic dysfuntion even if mom lands on her feet? And how numb do you have to be to take that kind of disaster in stride?

All power to Bezos' ex, MacKenzie Scott, who married Mr. Human Hotdog at 22, had four kids, survived the cheating and discard with a grin and is now the second richest woman in the world and an important philanthropist.

But not everyone is wired to ride that bull. Some off themselves or die of stress induced cancer. It's sort of Hunger Games-ish. And I'm sure money eases the stress of divorce on children but by how much? Would you go into a marriage and breeding knowing this was the outcome?

I thought the series Succession did a great job of illustrating the psychological pitfalls to kids and adult children. Producer Will Farrell is apparently obsessed with the "born on third base" concept and culture. yeahhhh especially so young. don’t get me wrong kids are great and all, but whenever a young mum tells me that their kids are “great” and she wouldn’t “trade them for the world”... I can’t help but feel like they’re lying and they’re only not saying otherwise because they don’t wanna look like a selfish person. like your 20s are stereotypically (and rightfully so) your selfish years... having a baby is a much bigger commitment than most people realise and it means no longer being the main character in YOUR life anymore, and quite frankly, I’m getting real sick of people having babies when they’re clearly not ready to - it has detrimental affects on the baby themselves.

i once went down the rabbit hole of teen baby mama youtube and YIKES. these girls believe simply bc they had babies means they magically just don’t have the brain of children. a lot of them go on to having multiple kids and even get married by 21. and most get divorced soon after. you can tell by how they talk about things that they’re immature but they want the world to see them as grown. i understand shit happens, but i will never condone teen pregnancy by choice. you’re only a child for so long, you have the rest of your adult life to have kids.

Yeah even though I wish her the best I’m so concerned for that baby. She posted herself buying her man a luxury car not too long ago and I was so confused. She’s so young and wants the responsibility of raising a child and is willing to risk her youth looking after a man. Could never be me.

All young-ish mothers claim its great, they love their kids and are so fulfilled. The older ones and empty nesters have laundry lists of broken dreams and complaints.

Not saying not to ever have kids if you want them, but it's nowhere near the pure, unblemished magical experience society would have you think.
