Was dating this guy for the past month and a half. Everything about him was on point - educated, well travelled, respectful, kind, generous, consistent, decisive. I do believe he was a HVM.

Cue to our last date. He asked if I was free Sunday (last Sunday) I said yes and waited for him to solidify a time and location for us to meet. I waited until that Saturday and sent him a very stern text that I am not an option and that I have offers for other plans that day. In hindsight, I should have just booked something with my friends instead of waiting around for him, but he is going on a month long trip abroad starting today and I knew we didn’t have long to see one another. He apologized profusely and came up with 12 different options of things he thought I’d like to do. I accepted my favourite option and we went out Sunday.

Fast forward to Tuesday, he asked if I was free Saturday and I said yes. He said great, then let me know that he was very busy this week and wouldn’t be able to let me know the final plan until Friday night. This isn’t impressive to me but I say it’s ok because he gave me a heads up. Friday comes and he chats a bit about what we could do but does not solidify a time and location. He texts me this morning to say he’d like for me to meet him at the Art Gallery today at 3:30.

I say no, you didn’t follow through on your promise to finalize plans with me on Friday night, so I made other plans instead. It’s inconsiderate of my time to wait until the day of to make a concrete plan. I told him to enjoy his time abroad. Was thinking maybe to give him another chance and leave him free to reach out when he returns because in every other way he’s been perfect. But he said he will not be reaching out again. I blocked him.

I genuinely do think he is HVM but I don’t think he was crazy enough about me to make me a priority. I’m pretty bummed right now, any encouragement?
