All the advice out there advocating women step up for equality's sake ignores the simple fact that women and men still look at dating differently.

Generally speaking men cast a wide net and go for whatever they can. They don't pursue unless they see someone they really like, because the odds of success are so low it's not worth putting in the effort for something they aren't excited about that likely won't happen.

While it may feel "empowering" to make a move on a man and have him accept, that high will wear off when you're a year or so in, he puts in little effort to make you feel wanted(he never needed to before), and eventually leaves you to chase some other woman he felt a spark with.

Meanwhile, women are already getting tons of matches just for existing. We don't have to work to get a mate, but we do need to think about and vet a potential suitor to see if he's worth our time, resources, and fertility.

We need to stop forcing equality into dating. Men and women are not the same and never will be. Equality fits best in a discussion of legal issues.

(Some lurker is going to see this comment and say "See? I KNEW they didn't want to be equal LOLOL")

I stopped reading after he said waiting to have sex until the third date (!!!??!? You don’t even know him yet) is “playing hard to get”. Anyone who calls standards “games” has nothing important to teach me. Next.
