One good thing about lockdown is it can give you time to evaluate how to improve your life without the influence of others.

I actually got dumped in the middle of this. He was more conservative and a little more sheltered about some things. No immediate red flags, but I knew that he could conflict with my own goals. I've run into one too many techie guys who talk a lot about what they're going to do, but flake on things.

I briefly thought about how this person and I could have a future together, but now have used my time to:

-Rethink retirement goals and where I (alone) want to live

-Manage debt by paying or deferring things

-Learn some new software that will improve my salary

-Read more

These are all decision that can be negatively affected by a bad partner or even someone good who is not quite right for you. Think of this year as similar to a gap year.
