I had a man scream at me once on the sidewalk for something like this. I was on a run, with headphones in, he was out walking his dog. He saw me coming from uphill and pulled himself and his dog aside, you know, a common courtesy. I have athletes asthma and watch my breathing carefully when I run so I nodded but didn’t say anything and he screamed full volume “fuck you you ungrateful bitch try saying thank you!!”. It was jarring.

Pathetic! I hold doors open for guys, I don’t get outside the door but I wait and hold it for anyone within a few seconds behind me. Where’s my medal??? I am so disadvantaged in society for being a basic decent human being /s. I also thank the many men who hold doors open for me, the young shitheads who don’t do that, you suck. You know who you are. 25-35 years old and buying your six packs of IPA and going home to wank or play video games. Thank god men in my generation were taught some basic respect.
