Yes, i know how you feel. my ex used to down play every opinion i said by talking over me, man-splaining simple things to me, acting like his opinions were facts, etc. i used to back down to him too, like i thought he was so smart and i was so dumb. Bruh that makes me cringe so hard just typing that out cuz YUCCKK lmao. but yeah it does really suck, the audacity some of these scrotes have is fucking wack isn’t it? atleast we realize it now though!

Oh yes and how could I forget? All the controlling and negging behavior, telling me what to wear and what to eat. Dude was acting more like my father than a romantic partner lol. WTF was I thinking trying to live with him? I wasn't thinking, because I was in another abusive relationship when this guy lovebombed me and manipulated my feelings. I'm much older now of course and so much wiser.

I dated this guy once who would talk to me like a child when I was high (weed) and he really seemed to enjoy talking to me in that way😕

As soon as he found out that I occasionally smoke a little bit of weed (1-2x month), he would offer me really strong ones every single time I saw him. I should have refused but everytime we would both get high all weekend. It blinded me to all the red flags I would have seen in a sober state of mind. Actually the one weekend I had enough strength to refuse, I broke up with him the next week.... bit off topic I know, but this is why it is a bad idea to reveal to guys any mild occasional weed use...they will try to exploit it

Of course you were not equal and could never have been, he was 30 years older. Old enough to be your father. Imagine yourself being 45yo, and having a 15yo boyfriend. It's sick, and it's never possible to be equal. And it's good that you realised it's gross and nowhere near normal.

Yes, I was with a guy who was 19 years older than me. All was well and good when I was behaving like his hot young bangmaid girlfriend. But once I had a problem, he would becoming condescending and dismissive, and act like he knew better than me, using phrases like "I've had more experience than you, you should listen to me." Or "When you get to my age, you'll see that the way you're behaving is unreasonable and it's just not a big deal." Or just plain call me crazy and overreacting.

My dad and his wife are 35 years apart. I love them both and I know he does listen to her, but the way he talks to her sometimes (like a toddler) is downright cringe-worthy.
