This is very true. I used to be an overly giving person to men I was dating because I just truly love making other people happy. Those men I did that for were the most disrespectful to me. Now, I actively stop myself from doing things for men I’m dating because I know it just backfires. Instead, I stay in my feminine “receiving” energy and it’s been amazing how much the guys I’m dating are doing for me to prove themselves. In the past few weeks, I have received flowers, jewelry I wanted, had a guy build me a garden, received special spa days, and had a guy research and then buy me a puppy I wanted. This weekend, I have one taking me on an expensive vacation that he planned months ago because I casually said it was somewhere I always wanted to go.

Remember, queens, men truly do fall in love partially based on what they can do for you. All I’ve done in return is say thank you. Instead of giving to men (since like I said I’m a giving person), I just focus on channeling that energy to my family, friends, and doing more volunteer work.

This is how my last relationship ended. I realized basically exactly what she said in the video but in other words. I had spent over $200 on Christmas gifts, each hand picked and researched to be super personal and tbh just awesome gifts. I ordered very early because I knew about shipping delays. And everything was wrapped and under the tree before Christmas. I get a call from my ex and we are talking and I say “I just wrapped your last gift!” And he says “oh shit. What do you want? “ it’s literally December 20th. Like shipping was delayed weeks at this point. He hadn’t given a single thought about what he was going to get me, and then had the audacity to make me pick out my own gift. I told him no, he can pick out my gift and surprise me. He begged for ideas. So I was weak and sent him some things that I liked. And he got me a calendar... that came weeks into January. I ended it the next week.

This is so true, and so many of us have been screwed over by it. We're trained as women since childhood to give and give and give, and then we can't understand why men don't appreciate us. The more we do, the more they despise us. But if we don't understand this dynamic, we just think we're not doing enough and bend over backwards even more.
