I work in a male dominated field, and it never ceases to surprise me how much men are incapable of taking criticism well. Whenever a manager point out something wrong they did, instead of owning up to it, they go on the defensive and get butthurt, it's embarrassing to watch.

I on the other hand take criticism with grace and start a conversation with the manager to actually try and understand what I did wrong and how I can avoid it in the future. And we both end up feeling good about our conversation.

But not my male colegues, they embarrass themselves in front of the team, the manager start resenting them for their reaction, and all in all they create this bad vibe, which is unnecessary.

If they can't take constructive criticism at work, I can only imagine how bad it is in their relationships.

Grow up and stop embarrassing yourself.
