Yeah, because conservative men haven't been body-shaming women they didn't agree with since the beginning of time. Smh.

It's not left or right. It's always men body-shaming women. And apparently now other men too. Welcome to our world. Maybe we should do something about it for all genders.

And the sad thing is that men don't seem to understand that THIS is the toxic masculinity that feminists are trying to address. Other men -- the TRP, PUA, MGTPW crowd -- don't care.

I do agree with one of the ideas posted about male objectification and how (for example) it is unhealthy for both actors and viewers for men in like, riverdale (especially when they’re supposed to be playing teenagers!) to be required to be ripped for the camera when the level of ripped-ness requires dangerous methods to upkeep.

But the framing is all wrong, because he’s acting as though it’s women’s fault for the double standard when it really should be everyone against the cultural norm of extreme and unhealthy beauty standards.

Also ignores the fact that women are generally required to be that fit, while only heart throbs and crossover stars are required to be that fit. There’s plenty of averagely fit and unfit men in tv/movies, whereas the ratio is much lower with women.

One of those guys mentioned martial arts as being looked down on as “low culture.”‘I love martial arts and have practiced them off and on for years. Never have I seen them looked down upon. I have had some men scoff at the idea of a woman doing them, but I haven’t had a general feeling of people thinking they are some how low class. Now, I have seen UFC and things like that debated, but not martial arts themselves.

By the way, most men who knew I did martial arts were actually very supportive. The guys who had an attitude were the exception, not the rule.
