I’m kind of getting sad because I feel like guys my age aren’t accomplishing very much. In the past, I’ve dated guys older than me and they seem to not be doing much better.

I recently got into a relationship with a lovely guy, but I’m afraid now that I’m outgrowing him and I just can’t see a long term future anymore. It’s not that he doesn’t have a career- that’s moving forward but obviously not as fast as mine. I’ve gotten very lucky, but I’ve also been very financially responsible all my life- I have a credit score over 800 and I’m starting to think about buying a house.

My bf is lovely but financially, he’s just not there yet. He has some savings and can support himself, but that’s not the same level..? Maybe I’m just ahead of the curve at 23, but I feel sad that few guys my age (and even guys close to 30 or older)are on the same page.

Do I give it more time and kind of accept that we won’t get married (not that I’m there yet)? Or should I make myself available immediately in hopes of meeting someone moving a bit faster even if the chances are slim?
