Someday, that can bite you in the ass. Like when kids come along and you're recovering from a c section. Suddenly you need help but your partner is unable to.
Try to let him do things for himself, to his standard, and relinquish control. If he is simply incapable, then dump him. But don't pick up his slack.

This comment triggered me a bit lol cuz literally every woman in my family says this and it always sounds like an excuse for the fact that their husbands don’t do shit. Of course I’m not commenting on your relationship dynamic! Just thinking about whether this desire to control is just exhaustion from expecting men to contribute when they think it’s our job as women.

I used to be this way. Now I tell my SO, you do shit properly or I’ll go back to being happily single. I don’t deal with half-assery anymore. I don’t want to date an incompetent moron, so you either get yourself up to standard or find someone who doesn’t have any themselves!
