This argument (not all men) is so frustrating to me. It actually proves the point feminism argues for... I firmly believe general morality exists, but I don't understand why we need to constantly acknowledge and praise men who do well when we're discussing men who harm; it's besides the point.

Anyways, feminist criminology shows how deeply male "immoral" actions exist in society. My criminology class discussed how small female crime is; it's so small that statistics cannot express it with proper reasoning. And I say "immoral" because I do acknowledge laws are limited and extended based on politically empowered groups that dismiss the disenfranchised. I think this is important because some things I deem immoral aren't illegal, such as forms of abuse common to women. At the same time, some things in law are illegal when they maybe shouldn't be; law can be based on black and white principles that fail to see the nuance in contexts. I loved reading about how early feminist criminology predicted an increase in women's crime rates as social equality grew, and when that didn't happen, they realized perhaps crime is not a "natural" occurence. It lead to the theory that perhaps we need seperate legislation and statutes for women written by women, and that we should consider our current understanding of criminology might only be based on male crime. What a thought!

I realize that a lack of education, a lack of abstract thinking, and a lack of empathy play roles in the minimization of womens' societal inequality, but I'm somehow still astonished at society's reaction to feminism. I sometimes look for YouTube videos on Feminist topics and the ratio of dislikes to likes and hateful comments astounds me.

The recent (edit: and previous!!) US election has done an excellent job of exposing the ubiquitous amount of anti-women sentiment still lingering in society.

I'm grateful for this subreddit as a resource.
