Personally, I love them. I got into them maybe four years ago? They follow a formula and they always deliver. But it’s a suspension of disbelief. Real life doesn’t work that way, but it’s an easy, fun way to spend an hour and a half. Plus they’re the only place to find manic pixie dream boys. 😂 And /u/shoesfromparis135 makes a lot of great points that I agree with.

It’s like when they tell you that they’re going to surprise you for your birthday/anniversary, will have a great gift or trip planned, and it never comes to pass. Then they get angry when you ask about it. They got the high from promising to do a nice thing but they don’t want to expend the effort to actually do it. That’s why it’s said that if you want to get healthier you shouldn’t tell people you’re going to start exercising, you should just do it.

Some have pointed out that mallores should be spelled mayores, but Souto isn’t bothered by the mistake. “I didn’t go to school,” he told Nius. “I started working when I was a child and worked all my life. Just like my wife. The poor thing has never stopped working.” 😭😭

I have been away from Reddit for 5mo (obsessed with something else— it’s just in the being), and this is my first day back. And I see this. I see this truth speaker. I see my husband who hasn’t washed a dish in over three weekends. I’ve been ignoring a lot of cleaning because I’m deep in busy season, but I still participate. I still monitor the house and realize it’s gone to shit. “He’s going to make you live in his garbage.” https://i.imgur.com/qxhomFm.jpg

I feel like cell phones and SM are a big factor in the codependency amongst the younger generation. There were plenty of unhealthy relationships amongst peers when I was in high school (I’m 37yo), but we simply didn’t have constant and immediate access to others like kids do nowadays.

This incel “friend” is telling on himself (“I’d fuck your wife, I don’t give a shit about our friendship or if it would hurt you”) and OP is like “haha what a jokester. :)”
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/12/20 02:11 AM

Yep, noticed that too. In all honesty I feel like most of these types of posts will end in a justified divorce, but they’re so exhausted by their loser husbands not helping with the kids, bills, or house that it’s hard to find the energy to begin the process.

I mean, hopefully they’re reporting their earnings and paying their self-employment taxes. The IRS doesn’t care how you earn revenue as long as it’s reported. Same goes for any twitch or YouTube celeb. Side note: the IRS is really nice to work with if you ever find yourself behind in taxes. They will work with you to find a plan.

I totally understand the romanticism of van living... but unless I had the money where I didn’t need to work, and could spring for hotel/motels every so often, I couldn’t do it long term. And in my van living dreams it’s only me and a dog lol.

Was that storyline cut from the show? Because I had no idea that was in the story. The show must be a really sanitized version of the books.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/11/20 09:15 AM

Have you seen the show? I haven’t read the books, but I really enjoyed the first season on Netflix. Yennifer is definitely an equal to Geralt. He’s an emotionally repressed mess of a character no matter how you slice it (but so easy on the eyes).

He’s actually way more likable than Batman or bond. Like, his allies are mostly women iirc. And he finds a kid that he orphaned when he was under the mind control. They’re a fun, action-for-action’s sake watch. I haven’t seen all of them, but I’ve seen the first three.

There was this one single mom with two boys in my after school program. The eldest was 6th grade and the youngest was 1st. The eldest was such a rude piece of crap to his mom, it was shocking. Right to her face. I never heard her say anything to him, she was so beat down. It was sad. One time he tried to tell me it was stupid that I took two days off work when my pet died. I said (pretty harshly) “you don’t get to tell me how to feel, Name.” He was not expecting that. I’m not about to let a 12yo…

That one thread in the relationships(?) sub about a scrote who was butthurt that his gf was getting action and he wasn’t after HE pushed for an open relationship is balm upon my soul. I wish I would have saved it. If anyone has a link, I’d love to read it again.

I would never do this. It’s LVW behavior. I’m not about to spend money to shit test a guy— either I trust him or I dump him. Plus, even if he didn’t take the bait, there will always be more opportunities to cheat in the future, so it doesn’t prove anything.

Women have to do so much emotional labour on behalf on men. No, we don’t. I just wanted to make this part extremely clear. It’s incredibly common, and I’ve been there in the past, for romantic partners and dude “friends.” I thought I was being a good partner and friend. I was really just being used as an emotional dumping ground to make them feel better. They never got “better,” or changed how they operated.

I really enjoy zombie media (and was extremely late to the game, so I’m not “tired” of it by now). What grinds my gears is when the zombie isn’t mindlessly biting anything it can reach with its mouth. Like, it’s not going to skip biting your foot so it can climb up your body to reach your head, therefore giving you time to reach that knife that got knocked out of your hand. 🙄😂

Why did you entertain that behavior at all? Shut that shit down, girl. You’re at WORK. That’s the last place you want to display that some random dude can come in and be so disrespectful to you. That shit carries, even after the offender is gone. Anyone who witnessed the interactions between you two is now going to have that perception in their head going forward. Now they’re going to have a baseline that you tolerate being treated so disrespectfully.

Unless you live somewhere with comprehensive public transport, don’t waste your time with someone who can’t drive. Unless there’s a medical reason preventing it, I feel that every adult should possess the skill knowing how to drive. It’s just practical and smart to know how to drive. Did you pay for all of these items? Gather receipts in a safe place. Have the cops do a civil standby and hire a moving company to do all the lifting for you. If necessary, rent a storage unit and unload there so he can’t follow you to your new place. Turn off gps on your phone and apps. I’m sure there’s a ton of useful tips if you google something like “how to leave an abuser.”

That’s all that matters. I think some of these men are stupid and vicious enough to follow through with these things when they’ve got themselves all riled up like that. And to be extremely clear: HE riled HIMSELF up. He WANTED to be angry and scream at you. He WANTED to terrify you. He ENJOYS how it feels to get so angry and to punish/scare you for the annoyances and stresses in his life. He is extremely dangerous. The other poster’s description of a viper feels spot on. Imagine paying nearly twice as much to live with some douchebag with baby mama drama than you do to live in your own apartment by yourself. Fixed expenses typically go down once you split them with someone else.

That’s fascinating. I moved to San Francisco five years ago. It’s touted as being “man heavy” due to tech. What’s so apparently shitty of your ex and every other failure of a man that pulls this type of shit, is that they ONLY care about themselves. They’re not leaving their wives and taking their children with them because they’re worried she’s unstable or unable to care for the kids. They’re seeing their wives in crises and deciding it’s too much effort to help their wives OR THEIR CHILDREN. Pathetic sacks of shit that only care about their dicks and their video game time.

And this is why alimony was and is a thing— you spend your entire life serving a man and raising his children. He can bail on you at any time and leave you destitute. It was such a big problem that there were laws enacted to protect the wives and children that these men were abandoning. This is also why it’s bad to be a forever girlfriend. Unless you live in a common-law place (and also meet the other tests) there are no laws to protect you. Marriage is not just about love, it’s a legal contract…

Lucifer starts as the ultimate fuck boy but evolves character. The overall narrative is devil reformed by a woman, but to give the show credit, it’s deeper than that (lots of family stuff and self-acceptance). I agree that there’s no way he’d be up there preaching about staying together if she had been the one who cheated, or even if she also had an affair. Men love forgiveness as long as they’re the ones being forgiven.

FWIW, I’ve read studies that show that surgeons who game have better hand-eye coordination than those who don’t. But that’s an edge case, discussing surgeons who have made it through medical school and have been accepted into a practice.

What the hell. Look at this quote from the article: “When I play a game, I know if I have a few hours I will be rewarded,” he said. “With a job, it’s always been up in the air with the amount of work I put in and the reward.” What sort of stupidity is this? It’s not “up in the air.” It’s the [number of hours you work] x $8.75 (minimum wage in Maryland in 2016, location and date from the article). You know exactly how much reward there is going to be. What he means is “working sucks and it’s easi…

Yeah I can get behind quirky nostalgic/nerdy stuff like that (because I’m guilty of it myself) but it needs to be weighed against the rest of their lives. If they present as an adolescent in the rest of their personality, appearance, habits, and ambitions, then hell no. If they’re active in their education/career achievements, keep a neat house and appearance, have adult friendships and family relationships, and enjoy activities that are more than sitting in front of a screen, then I’m okay with…

I like to know a history outline— like I’ve been in a couple long term relationships, one for two years, one for five years. And maybe a generalized reason for the breakup, like moved for school or we grew apart. That way you know that you’re not the “starter” relationship and you can also see that they can discuss the breakups without blaming it on a crazy ex. Other than that, I don’t want or need to hear it.

Hereditary is my favorite horror movie. It’s SO well done. I can’t believe how much dread he packed into that movie. It really deserved awards, and Toni Colette killed it. The Descent used to be my favorite horror (till it was eclipsed by Hereditary lol). I just rewatched it a couple of nights ago! I know Midsomner is classed as horror, but it’s not really scary imo (esp when compared to Hereditary). More of a drama with some freaky stuff. Florence Pugh was amazing. Because a narc needs a supply of emotional energy. We live in a patriarchal society that has catered to men for eons. They’re not used to being dismissed. When they do face a dismissal, they become indignant by the slight. So they want to punish and/or have the last word by eliciting an emotional response. I think that for most men this is all subconscious. The degree of severity also changes by person, but overall I think it’s pretty uniform.

Idk if there’s a FDS rule for this, but there’s also the sliding scale of age gaps as people mature. In my mind it’s always been something like this: 18 year olds fresh out of high school? Maybe like 3 years. Mid 20s? Like 5 years. 30s? 5-10 years. 40s? 10-15yrs.

This is why being easy-going is detrimental to oneself while in relationship, which really sucks because my personality IS easy-going! But accepting low effort behavior teaches them that you’re only worth low effort behavior.

I think sexism is just more insidious nowadays. Most everyone knows how they “should” act and the things they should and shouldn’t say, so they can play like they’re feminist, even if their thoughts and behaviors say otherwise.

Most charitable explanation is that he is avoiding home, you know where his wife, the mother of his child, is exhausted from caring for their baby, the child that he created because he wanted to get a raw nut off (and continue his “legacy”). Not to mention avoiding any responsibility for the upkeep of the home or emotional labor he might need to expel in order to be supportive.

Meanwhile the rot stays where it was. That’s why I think the goal of FDS is not to become as nasty as men, but to build self preservation and smarts on top of what we already have. This is why it’s so ridiculous when people compare FDS with incel forums. We want to better ourselves and we buoy each other. Getting a man is not the goal. The goal is to be our best selves and to avoid men who are a waste of our time. If you spend any time on incel subs they’re all about stagnation and entitlement. …

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/02/20 12:44 AM

It’s best to check before making a final decision either way. OP can get a consult with a lawyer. Her husband is able to work, he’s just choosing not to, and that should be part of the equation. Plus, when you have assets like a home or if there’s kids involved you should almost always get professional help.

Women are trained to be polite. We’re taught it’s the right way to act. Deviating from that is difficult and it feels wrong.

This is true. There’s been studies that show when women self-assert in the workplace they are perceived more negatively. However, women who assert for other women are not perceived differently. It’s really jacked up and basically capitalism is a prisoners dilemma for women.

This exactly. It’s a mental thing versus physical. Physical issues are like death grip; women can also become more desensitized by using vibes for a long time. I’ve only been here for like a month and it’s changed me, or better said, it’s stripped away conditioning that I didn’t even realize I had. I’m stronger than i was before. I was crying on the reg, I was trying to make him happy all the damn time. Turns out he enjoyed making me miserable, so nothing was going to change This is way more common than one would think, and I see it all the time in the relationship subs. Way back before I even found FDS I’ve made that same type of reply to posts from sad women who seemed determined to stay in their miserable relationships. That or when you give a “friend” you’re not attracted to a chance because you get along so well, then they get upset because you’re still not attracted to them. God I was so stupid when I was younger. I even told them you can’t force attraction, I either feel it or I don’t, and I still went along with the situation.

The men aren’t going to be outshone or challenged in a way that threatens their ego. In fact, she probably goes along or agrees with everything, accepts boorish behavior from them, and exists as an accessory/toy they can pick up and out down when they want. Does that sound true?

I’m 36yo and have never done anal. I have girlfriends who enjoy it, and I’m ultimately not opposed to trying it eventually. But I have no innate desire for it, I think “gaping asshole” porn is like the nastiest shit ever, and I will never let someone pressure me into it. I’m so glad that I’m married because dating / new sexual relationships seem to expect anal as par for the course. No thanks.

A lot of gay men have disdain/contempt for women. I’ve had a gay stranger grab my boobs at a mutual friend’s Halloween party. We hadn’t even been introduced. I’ve been straight up ignored by gay men when I though we were having a pleasant group conversation. Misogyny is hardwired in men, and that doesn’t go away just because they’re gay.

Lots of birds offer shinies to attract mates! One of my favorites was from a nature documentary. There was a bird that lived near a campground that would steal blue-colored objects and carefully arrange them around his space to help attract a mate. The scientists glued down a blue object while the bird was away, and when he couldn’t move it he basically rage-quit that nest and started a new one lol (poor bird). There’s also the murder of crows that bring shinies to the girl that feeds them.

Fds and those subs have NOTHING in common. FDS is disarming their tactics, exposing them and proving a lot of what they say isn't true (wall, Chad/beta/alpha/theta/gamma LMFAO) I feel like FDS is a sub thats purpose is to build women’s self esteem and to educate women on how to recognize (and evade) harmful behavior from individuals and society. I agree with this 100%. Be the person you want to have in a friend, family member, or partner (if you’re to that stage). It cost nothing but a little time and thought. One of the things I’m going to do this year is buy a forever calendar and write down birthdays and other important dates. And then there’s the trash men. They didn’t see why they had to wait until they were good enough to date. They complained all women don’t think any men are good enough. Of course they thought that. If you offer trash, what do you think you’ll get in return? That’s what I don’t understand with LVM, especially NEETs who are bitter about not getting attention from women.

This is the same for me also. I’m now 36 and married, but I also have a dating history. I’ve never done anal and don’t have a desire to try. And yes, there’s no such thing as “accidental anal.” There’s “accidental bumping against the wrong hole” sometimes if drink is involved, but anything past that is intentional. And a dude being drunk is no excuse at that point.
