I wish more mothers taught their boys that yes they love them unconditionally but that love can't and shouldn't be taken without reciprocation. Unfortunately many mom's think that teaching a kid how to reciprocate love and affection is a kin to telling them they aren't loved unconditionally which is a bullshit concept all it's own. Sure love would still be there even if you are a jerk to the person who loves you if they truly love you for who you are. But a relationship and romance aren't going to exist if you don't love them back and are capable of showing the same care kindness and emotional vulnerability.
