Wow. I really needed to read this. My situation isnt as dire but... I guess I never thought about seeking out my parents help. I. 37 and have two kids with my husband and I'm beyond miserable, maybe I need to reach out toy family even if they're not perfect.

I dug a bit and, for context, it definitely sounds as though he's put his hands on her before; keeping her cowed. One of her deleted(?) comments says she's only staying with him because she's afraid and "he's not a man to be reasoned with".
