I have a new coworker that I haven't known for very long. She comes into work this morning and tell us that got engaged over the weekend. Yay! Happy for her, right?

Of course she starts talking about how he did it, and basically he saved up all the notes and letters that she had written him over the course of the relationship to use in the proposal. He told her, "You've written me all these sweet and loving things and I just want you to know that they're a mirror image of the way I feel about you." So he's pulling out the notes that SHE wrote HIM one by one out of his pocket and reading them to her and then he pulls out the ring.

And she's fawning over how sweet it was and so are my other coworkers and I'm standing there thinking to myself, "Wait. Did I miss something? So you mean to tell me that he basically co-opted the loving things you did for him to pass it off like his own work?" It's basically romantic plagiarism...like, seriously? He couldn't even be bothered to write his own declaration of love or how he feels about her, to literally do the bare minimum and express how he feels about her.

Then she goes on to start talking about how his kids are not on board with the engagement and what a bitch his ex is and how her 16yo soon-to-be step-daughter is so snotty and disrespectful. I'm just left to wonder, they probably know more about him and his character than you do...πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ
