One of the most important things in life is consistency in what we do, and not necessarily just in romantic relationships, but everywhere. Consistency is a high value trait because it shows that you can keep your word, it shows that you can be reliable.
Whenever you analyze your man, don't think about those rosy moments. Those rosy moments will easily deceive you, serving as traps for yourself. Sis, I don't care if he bought you a whole ass castle one time if he hasn't shown you CONSISTENT respect, loyalty, interest and love. Gestures to show how you feel for someone you love don't have an expiration date. You don't stop loving that person, so you shouldn't stop doing those nice things. As a result, if your dude isn't consistent, then you know what to do.
Whenever you analyze yourself (because let's be real here: we all need a moment of self-reflection or two every day. I meditate and self-reflect daily), you need to be kind and yet objective with yourself. Have you been consistent in your work of practicing FDS? Have you been consistent in your efforts in your career / education? Have you been consistent about that book you said you'd read and so on? Have you been consistent in your hobbies?
I gave consistent effort and performance at my job, so I got promoted this summer. I put consistent effort in my witchcraft, so I eventually got a better grip of it. I was consistent about going to therapy, so, in less than a year, I became a whole new person. I am consistent about my principles in my relationship, so I drink my coffee sat on the sofa while my dude makes the breakfast like 90% of the time in the morning.
No matter what, remember : consistency is key.
