In defense of the terms... When I first came across this sub, these terms helped me set boundaries for myself. A black and white portrayal of my dating experience was just what I needed to get out of a draining relationship. Isn't that sort of the point of this sub? It's like seeing things in black and white so you can enjoy color again!

IMO the entire point of this sub is to look at things as if they are black and white as a way to protect yourself.

Most women go through life dating for potential or ignoring red flags early because they think the guy they’re dating could be the exception not the rule.

But in reality, thinking of a guy as a HVM who occasionally “shows low value qualities” is exactly what got most of us on this sub into shitty dating situations or relationships in the first place. You’d be surprised at what that type of thinking enables you to put up with.

Is there a possibility that a man showing low value or negative value early on could become high value later on? I’m not sure. I’ve personally NEVER seen that happen.

We’re playing an odds game here and odds are a guy who is acting shitty is just that. Let’s call a spade a spade.

"Modern women" don't realise their value. That's a huge part of the problem. I wouldn't worry too much about "raising our collective value" when most of the other half of humanity behave in ways that make them worthless to us.

We're already promoting higher standards across the dating pool by teaching women to raise their expectations and spot the arseholes. And women are pouring in to learn.

If you don't like the language stick to the pickme subs.

I love the term. There are so many hurtful words for women while there isn't a male version for saying exactly the same. So I think it's definitely justifiable. A HVW just doesn't use it too much, it's not classy.

For whatever it's worth, I agree with you. The name calling comes across as bitter and low-value.

I get it. A lot of women are having an awakening to the abuse we suffer at the hands of men. We've spent years and years of our lives contorting ourselves in the hopes of receiving just scraps of basic human decency and affection. It's natural to be angry and vindictive when you finally realize how futile and even counter-productive it all was.

But I also think that a big part of leveling up is moving past your resentment, to get to another plane where the antics of those who can't meet you at your level don't even register, don't take up any of your mental or emotional real estate.

You can definitely see a split in this sub. There are the women who are still in the "anger" phase, who find comfort in shared commiseration over showcasing encounters with "LVM". And to an extent, I do think this phase is necessary. But I'm also beginning to see the women who have transcended this phase and have moved on to being unbothered expressing some frustration with the sheer quantity of anger-phase content.

I'm not sure what the solution is. I would love fewer memes and OLD screenshots and more quality discussion. I proposed in another thread that we could have a weekly "LVM Showcase" thread to keep it all in one place, but it didn't seem to get much traction.

I welcome any other thoughts.

Im not a fan of scrotes and don't use it nor all men are trash. Its the same to me as AWALT, women are parasites, etc as in the man spaces. Im not going to act like the men we are trying to avoid.

If Im always talking all man are trash and scrotes that is what I will attract in my life as its bad energy.
