This is a genuine question - when it comes to STD testing, what are all the possible STDs that can be tested for and when is the best timing after the last partner?
Reason I’m asking - I’ve yet to find one solid source on best practices. I have a good guy friend that I was discussing STD testing with in a very general discussion. He will only CONSIDER having sex with a woman after they’ve both determined that they’re both genuinely interested in an exclusive, committed relationship with each other. And that’s after both have gotten tested and they show each other clean test results. (This has only happened a handful of times - he’s a HVM, but too much like a brother to me).
In the discussion, I brought up the topic of HPV. There is no test for a man for HPV. A woman isn’t “tested” for HPV when she gets a standard STD panel done. It’s in our PAP results. So, I could show him a clean STD test; however, if I had HPV, it would be in my PAP results. He had not thought of this.
That got me thinking - If I were to find an HVM and were in the same boat - when I look at his STD results, what should I be looking for to make sure it is covered? That’s why I’m here.
Based on the most recent screen shot I have, this is what it covered. Pardon the typos - I’m going back and forth, looking at a pic. Can’t copy and paste.
Chlaymedia trachomatis Neisserra gonorrheae RPR HIV Hep C HSV-1 HSV-2 HBsag Screen Hep A
Thanks in advance for any information.
