Hi ladies,

I just thought I'd share something that I did recently with an OLD interaction that helped me not get too bummed when the (predictable) decline in messaging signaled that the interest was dying out.

As part of my overall level-up strategy, I am attempting to limit how much time I spend online outside of work. For a while I had stopped using social media altogether, but then I gradually relaxed that constraint and attempted to limit myself to only being online one or two days a week.

So when I was interacting with people online, I would let them know not to expect any responses until day X or Y of the following week. That worked well, and for one person in particular, before I started this strategy, I had begun to get caught up in thoughts of them/us (basically premature attachment that I think is driven by frequent interaction and me projecting my ideals onto them). But by adding deliberate spacing into our messaging frequency, I was better able to remain detached, without having to maintain a scrotation.

Perhaps this might work well for some of you too! Please let me know your thoughts, and/or share any other strategies you might have. Thank you! :)
