One of the sweet young nurses at my job has been chatting with a guy who's also a nurse at my hospital. They've seen each other at work, and about 2 weeks ago he friend-requested her on Facebook.

She keeps coming to me and showing me their chats and getting my opinion. (He is a VERY nice young man - I actually worked with him when he was a student).

She thinks I'm some kind of dating Guru lol. I try to tell her everything she needs to know is on FDS, but she still wants to come talk to me.

Anyway they met for a drink about a week ago and it went very nicely, he paid for everything and drove about 25 miles to meet with her. Apparently he they made another date for tonight, but yesterday he hurt his hand pretty badly helping his dad, thus rendering him unable to drive such a long distance (he was fully planning to drive to her again). She offered to drive the 25 miles to his city so they could still go on the date.

She just texted me and said that when she got to the restaurant he was waiting for her outside and walked her in. The first thing he said was "I'm paying for your gas, and I also made a hotel reservation for you in case you're too sleepy to drive back home after our date - which I'm paying for also."

She said he blushed bright red and said "Oh I don't mean that I'm going to the hotel... I'm going to go home, to my house... but uhhh I just want to make sure you're safe and sound" (paraphrasing).

She tried to not accept the gas money or the hotel room (if needed) but he said he'd get the police involved if she didn't let him pay lol.

I just thought that was a really sweet thing that he did and I'm impressed.

So keep up hope, ladies I know we see a lot of negative stuff, but you still also have to keep your heart somewhat soft and open (but still PROTECTED)... so that when someone good and honorable comes along you're ready and able to receive that kindness.
