Does anyone have stories of them or someone else actually waiting 3 days to text? Perhaps someone older who didn’t have smartphones in their 20s?

If I don’t get a text saying goodnight or a quick text the next morning saying something like “I had a great time last night”, I assume the guy is not interested. People are constantly on their phone nowadays so if a guy waits over a day to text me he’s either 1) playing games, 2) not interested. Am I wrong ladies?

My favorite thing about this is it’s always a double standard. I always had a rule that I’d take just as long to text back as the dude did or longer if I’m legit at work or something. I was seeing this LVM that would take a couple days to text me back on occasion and then literally after two hours or so of me not responding to his delayed text he’d send me multiple other texts being mad at me not responding (haha)...unfortunately I was 22 and made the mistake of not just ghosting him completely.

This was really common back in the 90s before texting and cell phones. The three day rule was a standard cliche.

Quelle my surprise when a guy I gave my number to one night called me at 7 AM the next morning.

I had a guy I dated a few times suddenly go from normal texting to not replying for a full 24 hours with no excuse. He wasn't even answering my previous texts. I let that happen twice before I texted him that I was moving on. I didn't even tell him why, but he knew. Tried to excuse it. We never spoke again lol. He had already let me down a couple times about meeting up so I was ready to next him anyway. I don't put up with this shit. I have never put up with this shit. I had one ex that didn't love texting or calling, but he sure as shit made plans with me early, texted to make sure we were still on, and then never canceled. He ended up being COMPLETE GARBAGE, but he did that part right. Well, in the beginning he texted and voice called the absolute shit out of me for two months straight, but that was love bombing. I figured that part out once his crazy appeared. I won't fall for that again.

One guy would wait near a week sometimes to respond. I thought maybe I was losing my mind and perceiving time longer than real life. No, he was an asshole. His job…digital media marketer.
