This is actually a pretty accurate depiction of women’s vs men’s cleanliness. My mom and I share a bathroom in my family house, and it’s super clean. My dad’s bathroom is cluttered and dirty. Is this because men expect women to clean up for them?

I have dated men in both those pics. Some men are very clean. It's got nothing to do with being men....it's how they were raised. I myself don't mind a small mess. I am not a hoarder by any means but I don't get bent out of shape over a small mess.

My dad’s not like that. His room and bathroom are all extremely messy. I guess I shouldn’t have generalized all men. It’s just the experience I’ve had.

Some men certainly expect women to clean up for them, but in your dad's case (and many other men) it's more like they will accept a woman cleaning up for them, but they aren't moved to do it for themselves because they don't care about cleanliness. That's the difficulty I have always run into when I have cohabitated with a man (which I have 3 times, 2x LTR's and one marriage). I have a much higher cleanliness standard, and if I wanted it maintained, I had to maintain it, because my partners weren't interested and didn't care. Sounds like your mom is fortunate in that she doesn't have to share a bathroom with your dad. If I ever live with a man again, his cleanliness standards and level of willingness to pitch in with cleaning will be thoroughly vetted first. That's a high priority for me.

I do think about the house as a macro example of the earth and how it’s treated. And we are all living in a million man sharehouse where they do live like picture 2.
Imagine if it were a million woman sharehouse?

Based on my own experience, I think this is pretty accurate.

When I was younger I brought my "best friend" (with benefits eww) to live at my house... it quickly became almost like the second pic, it is always a mistake. They hope to live in the filth and never complain. never again.
