I’m glad that it’s gaining traction in the media like NYTimes. Tiktok has a lot of FDS values. I think FDS is slowly seeping into the mainstream.

This author's actually been writing pretty sweet sex negative stuff for a while now. A couple of her earlier articles have been posted on FDS before. I made some undergraduate students read one of them in a feminist philosophy course I was teaching (thanks FDS) and a slight majority of them were super interested in it. Given that sex negativity isn't in the mainstream yet, I don't think this is a bad article or an example of pickme culture (it's a much needed reprieve from the endless onslaught of 'here's why putting shit up your butt and getting paid for it is cool' stuff).

I really liked the end line, summarizes my misgivings about the en vogue version of sex positivity pretty well:

"What passes for sex positivity is a culture of masochism disguised as hedonism. It’s what you get when you liberate sex without liberating women."
