I’ve said it before on here, but it bears repeating:

It’s the high rates of spousal abuse in cops and military men for me. Those professions tend to attract a low caliber of men who desire power over those weaker than them. AND the well documented thin blue line phenomenon that makes them protect their own to the detriment of the public that they’re paid to serve. YUP, that means that flag is literally them telling you that they come first before public safety.

When I did restraining order work, if a woman came in with a child with a black eye or she was missing teeth, 7x out of 10 he was in the military (the location was close to a base) or in law enforcement. And 100x out of 100, if he didn’t force her to drop the order before the final hearing, he showed up in uniform before the judge.

They simply can't separate their personal lives from their professional ones. Cops are a big no for me, too much unbalanced power in a relationship.

Security guards are often the lowest of the low -- often they wanted the power and authority of that uniform but they weren't qualified to be real cops (as low as that bar is).
