Just for context, this has reached a prominent position on r/all so it came across my feed.

And I, for one, am very confused. Reading this story, it's about some guy who compliments a woman for her appearance... and everyone in the comments is fawning over it?

The story came off as extremely creepy to me and I am very confused at the sudden reversal twoX is apparently having in discussion of someone's appearance. Talk about giving mixed messages...

You have to realize the majority of twoX users are borderline Femcels and generally very unlucky with relationships in general. So having a guy say that and not something like "hey bb u wan sum fuk?" Is probably extremely rare.

Male point of view: Give a compliment to her before leaving because I like it

Female point of view:

He recognizes that you are a person with feelings. You are a person with the capacity of love. And he doesn't demand that love to be directed towards him. So it is a compliment that is neither objectifying, nor entitled. And as you are both on the same level of power in this situation, nor does he force you to stay in a situation that might be uncomfortable for you (for example, when he would have given you this compliment way back in the check-out line) by walking away afterwards
